DLC Solutions partners with The Wellness Community to to develop pioneering online cancer support groups, "The Virtual Wellness Community" and "GroupLoop".
(Reston, VA - October 5th, 2006) Since 2001, DLC Solutions has been the proud technology partner of The Wellness Community (TWC) for the development of "The Virtual Wellness Community", a free Web site offering professionally-moderated online support groups to individuals with cancer and their loved ones. In 2003, we developed GroupLoop.org to provide support to teens with cancer and their parents. Recently, CNN interviewed one support group member about the role of the Virtual Wellness Community in her battle against ovarian cancer.
To date, the Web sites have helped thousands of people affecting by cancer and have won multiple national awards. And, a study by Dr. Mitch Golant of TWC demonstrated that those people who participate in these online support groups improve their overall quality of life and their ability to cope with their illness.
